Radek Slončík

Radek Slončík (* May 29, 1973 in Olomouc) is a Czech football player.

Career

Radek Slončík began playing football at Lokomotiva Pramet Šumperk. At 14, the midfielder moved to the youth of Banik Ostrava. In Ostrava, he managed in the season 1990/91 with 17 years to jump into the first team. In the following years, Slončík became one of the best playmakers the Czech league.

On 11 December 1996 Slončík debuted in the Czech national team, for whom he played more matches to 2000 16.

Since 1992, Radek Slončík major knee problems and had to repeatedly undergo surgery. When he moved to Sparta Prague in 2000, the expectations were high. But just the chronic knee problems made ​​Slončík hard to create. In one and a half years, he completed just 13 games. In January 2002, he moved to Budapest to Újpest FC. After a short settling time, he became one of the top performers of Purple - White. In the 2002/03 season he played in all games and scored four goals.

As Újpest in summer 2003 had financial difficulties, Slončík changed despite current contract until 2004 back to Banik Ostrava, even if it looked at first, as would oblige him the FK Drnovice.

He did not play as often as in the 1990s, but was with his experience as a leader and an important player of the team. In the season 2006/ 07 he was captain before he during the winter break 06/ 07 to Fotbal Fulnek in the MSFL, the third league changed. The main reason was the management aims to rejuvenate the team with a view to the future.

In January 2009 Slončík moved within the League 2 for MFK Karviná.

In the first Czechoslovak and Czech Radek Slončík League played 256 games and scored 17 goals.
