Radoslav Kvapil

Radoslav Kvapil ( born March 15, 1934 in Brno ) is a Czech pianist and composer. He is one of the leading interpreters of Czech piano music. After 2000, he has also appeared as interpreter of Chopin in appearance.

Kvapil was taught to play the piano since the age of six years of Ludvik Kundera. He has performed in approximately 50 countries in Europe, North America and Asia; belonged to his appearance, among other places, the Royal Albert Hall in London, Carnegie Recital Hall in New York and the Théâtre des Champs- Élysées in Paris. From 1963 to 1973 he was professor at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He is the founder of the South Bohemian Music Festival and the International Dvořák Society.

To Kvapil's many recordings include recordings of the complete piano works of Antonín Dvořák, Leoš Janáček and Jan Václav Voříšek.

Kvapil in 2002 was appointed by the French Ministry of Culture Chevalier dans l' Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
