Rafael Michelini

Rafael Michelini Delle Piane ( born October 30, 1958 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan politician.

He is the son of Elisha Delle Pianes and Zelmar Michelinis, a former senator and chamber president, who was assassinated in connection with the period of the military dictatorship in Argentina exile. His brother Felipe Michelini is also active in political functions and was in addition to his deputies activity also Vice - President of the House of Representatives of Uruguay.

Rafael Michelini himself is the founder and chairman of the Nuevo Espacio, one of the ruling party coalition Frente Amplio party nationals. From 1990 Rafael Michelini sat first five years as a deputy of the department of Montevideo for the Por el Gobierno del Pueblo - Lista 99 in the House of Representatives. Since 15 February 1995, he was a member of the Nuevo Espacio then held with a short break in the second half of 1999 until the beginning of the 45th legislative session in February 2000, through the office of a senator.
