Raffaele Bendandi

Raffaele Bendandi ( born October 17, 1893 in Faenza, † November 3, 1979 ) was an Italian pseudo- scientist who was known for his earthquake predictions.

He developed a theory of the origin of earthquakes that started from the assumption that the gravitational influence of the celestial bodies of the solar system affects the Earth's crust to the extent that earthquakes can occur. His theory is not proved from a scientific perspective.

During the 1920s Bendandi published numerous earthquake predictions in various newspapers. In May 2011 triggered one of these predictions an earthquake of Rome in the media and the population of unrest.
