Rahmede in mill Rahmede

The Rahmede is a small river in the Sauerland region, in the Mark Brandenburg district in North Rhine -Westphalia. It rises in Lüdenscheid, flows through the tortuous Rahmedetal and ends at Altena in the Lenne. On the way to its mouth it flows through neighborhoods that were named after her. In Lüdenscheid it's upper and Rahmede in Altena the districts Altroggenrahmede and mill Rahmede. It open a total of 25 streams in the Rahmede. Probably the biggest is the Fuelbecke that flows through the previously Fuelbecketalsperre. It is powered by more than a dozen streams. One of them is the Buschhauser Bach. Not far from the church cock it flows into the Green path Siepen and together with the Hunscheider Bach is it to Riet Hahner Bach, which also flows into the Fuelbecketalsperre.

Due to the relatively steep gradients the Rahmede and its tributaries were once commonly used for water-driven hammer mills for metal processing mills and grain processing.
