Ralph Niger

Radulfus Niger ( * before 1146, † 1200 ) was an English theologian and jurist.

After his studies in Paris, in John of Salisbury and Gerardus Puella, Niger acquired in 1166 by the title of magister. He was related to Archbishop Thomas Beckett of Canterbury and then entered the service of Henry II of England, with which he broke but after the murder of Thomas. Since 1173 he lived in France again.
