Ram Jam

Ram Jam was an American rock band that in 1977 with the song " Black Betty " published a million-seller, which should at the same time classic one hit wonder and Evergreen are.

History

William (Bill) Bartlett was previously the lead guitarist for The Lemon Pipers, Howie Blauvelt played with Billy Joel together in the group "The Hassles ".

With the song " Black Betty ", which had once written the folk singer Leadbelly, the formation center in 1977 reached number 18 on the U.S. charts. In the autumn of the same year they came to the UK and number 25 in Germany at # 7. In April 2009, the single climbed back into the Ö3 Austria Top 40 at # 23. The song became popular again due to the use in a Yesss advertising campaign.

Another success for the group, however, did not succeed. In 1979, the band broke up. Published in 1989, Sony Music a remix of DJ and producer Ben Liebrand, who placed himself in several countries in the single sales charts. An attempt to revive the LP " Nouvel album" Ram Jam 1994 failed.
