Rambynas

The Rombinus ( Lithuanian Rambynas or Rambyno kalnas ) is a hill in Lithuania in the former Memel land. He was a ritually significant hill of the scarf Auer. It lies in a bend of the river Memel at Ragnit (Russian Neman ). The mountain is washed down from the Memel and sometimes parts are removed from it. The height is now almost 46 m. Here were and are particularly celebrated the solstice celebrations.

The Rombinus plays a central role in Johannes Bobrowski tale "Lithuanian Claviere " where it's the end of the 19th century to the cultural awakening of the Prussian Lithuanians.
