Rampelsberg

BWf1

The Rampelsberg is up to 520 m high hill in the north of Rupertiwinkels in Upper Bavaria. At it borders the municipalities of Palling, Taching and Tittmoning. The Rampelsberg is mostly forested and is used heavily forested. Southeast of the Ramelsberg is a pebble work of Oppacher & Sohn GmbH & Co. KG fresh concrete.

History

In the south of Rampelsberg is the historic Schlossberg. This was in 1210 allowed the Knights of Törring by the Archbishop of Salzburg, to build a castle. After violent disputes between Kaspar Knights of Törring and Heinrich the Rich of Bavaria, the castle was, however, in 1421 completely destroyed during the war ox. The walls of the castle were pulled down and the stones of the ruined castle to the expansion of Burghausen Castle used. The site of the castle, and the moat can still be seen today by contours in the landscape.

Sports & Leisure

On Rampelsberg there are several marked cycling and hiking trails. Starting point for tours is the Meggen Thaler church in the northwestern city of Tittmoning or as a second entrance on the outskirts of Freutsmoos. The paths are marked as forest adventure trails with information boards and versatile way to show the benefits and function of an intact forest. The trails are paved only in smaller portions and for the most part gravelled forest roads.
