Ramsden is an impact crater in the west of the moon in front of the plane of the Palus Epidemiarum, west of the crater Capuanus. The crater is moderately eroded, its interior flat and lavageflutet.

Cross runs through the crater and far over the plain and the edges, the vast moon system of grooves Rimae Ramsden.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the English optician Jesse Ramsden.
