Randers Tropical Zoo

Randers Rain Forest is a Danish indoor zoo in Randers, which was established on 13 June 1996. The zoo consists of three glass domes of different sizes, in which the majority of the animals can move freely, an aquarium, an African cave, a snake temple and a skull cave.
Exhibition
South - dome
The South - dome is the largest of the three domes with a height of 25 meters and a floor area of 2000 square meters. In the dome there is a lake with piranhas and other fish, manatees, a separate crocodile enclosures, the largest measuring 15 meters waterfall Denmark and the replica of a Mayan Sun Temple. Mainly one encounters different monkeys (eg Springtamarinen ) and collar - Pecaris, but also some macaws, which move completely freely.
Africa Dome
In the Africa - dome casing monkeys Rotbauchmakis, ibis and other animals live. It is the smallest of the three domes with heights of 12 meters and a floor area of 500 square meters.
Asia - dome
The Asia - dome is 14 meters high and has a floor area 700 square meters. In the dome flying foxes, gibbons and various birds.
Africa Grotto
In Africa Grotto among other bats, aardvarks and Gambian giant pouched rats live.
Snake Temple
In the snake temple mainly live snakes, most are under 3 meters tall and move freely. Only the tiger pythons live in a separate compartment. In addition, there are many butterflies, toads, geckos and some archer fish in a pond.
Skull cave
The skull cave was inaugurated on 13th anniversary of Randers Rain Forest. Here are to be seen in the backdrop of an ancient tomb with more than 100 glowing skulls bats, anacondas, Hundskopfboas, tarantulas and cockroaches.
Planned expansion Planet Randers
To determine the market potential of a possible extension Randers Regnskovs, the zoo were allocated DKK 1 million. If the study is positive, further DKK 15 million which will be allocated in a new dome with a height of 20 meters, the basic dimensions 400 by 200 meters and an area of 63,000 square meters will be invested.
