Randy Crouch

Randy Crouch ( born April 1, 1952) is an American country music singer and multi-instrumentalist of the Red Dirt scene.

Life and career

Randy Crouch was born in 1952 and grew up in West Texas, where he joined the place in his youth every few years. He first started playing the piano, the guitar and the ukulele. During his high school years he started for the first time to play in a band. Randy Crouch has since its 1983 debut album appeared Color Slide released a number of his own albums, including in 1998 and an unplugged album, his band activity but has not given up until today and is a permanent member of the Red Dirt Rangers for several years. In addition, he has supportive worked on some of the works of artists such as Lisa Perry, Jason Boland & the Stragglers or South 40. In 2006, Crouch published a collaboration album with the legendary in Oklahoma, died in 2008 Bob Childers.

Crouch lives in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, in a house without electricity. He sees himself as a protest musicians. Among his greatest idols he counts the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, and the bluegrass band New Grass Revival. Crouch is often referred to as the world's best rock violinist, also it is considered as one of the key pioneers of the Red Dirt music. Furthermore, his music is the so-called Tulsa Sound, a style of music originating from Tulsa affected. As a multi- instrumentalist Crouch not only plays the violin, equally he has mastered the guitar, pedal steel guitar and other instruments. According to his website Crouch has been nominated more than 20 times at the Oklahoma Music Awards. He has won, among others, the award for Entertainer of the Year (2005), Singer- Songwriter of the Year (2005), Singer of the Year (2006 ) and as a steel guitarist of the year ( 2007). It was also included in the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.
