Raúl Isiordia

Raúl Isiordia ( born December 22, 1952 in Tepic, Nayarit ), also known by the nickname Cora (after living in the east of the state of Nayarit ethnic group ), is a former Mexican football player who was used mostly in the midfield.

Life

Isiordia received his first professional contract for the 1973/74 season at Necaxa successor Atlético Español, where he initially but neither came to his first professional kit as in the season 1974/75 in the service of Club Social y Deportivo Jalisco. When he was under contract for a second time at Atlético Español 1975-1978, his breakthrough and the jump was achieved in the national team, in whose ranks he made his debut on 1 February 1977 in a match against Yugoslavia, which the Mexicans with 5 1 decided in their favor and in which he immediately scored his first international goal. Just a few months later to him on June 14, 1977, his second international goal was achieved in a test match against Germany, which ended 2-2, and in which he had scored to make it 1-0 in the 18th minute the opening goal against Sepp Maier.

Two more international goals get him on 15 October 1977 in a World Cup qualifier against Suriname, which was won with 8:1.

In the subsequent 1978 World Cup, he played the first game of the Mexicans against Tunisia, which was surprisingly lost with 1:3 and similarly disappointing ended as the two other World Cup games of " El Tri ".

After the World Cup Isiordia moved to Monterrey, where he was until 1980 under contract. About the Tecos de la UAG, for which he played the next two years, he came 1982 on the Tigres de la UANL. Then he ended his active career at the end of the 1983/84 season in services Deportivo Neza. He had already completed on 18 December 1979 against El Salvador ( 1:1) His last international match.

After his playing career, he served as Sports Director in both the CF Monterrey as well as its archrival Tigres de la UANL active. Most recently, he exercised this activity at third division Vaqueros de Reynosa.
