Raúl Lozano

Raúl Lozano ( born September 3, 1956 in La Plata, Argentina ) is an Argentinean volleyball coach, who served as national coach of the men of the German national volleyball team, among others, from 2009 to 2011.

Career

Raúl Lozano was in his native Argentina and since 1988 in Italy since 1981 trainer of numerous volleyball Men's teams. At the same time, he coached in the 1990s, at times the Spanish men's national team. From 2005 to 2008 he was the coach of the Polish men's national team, with which he was runner-up in Japan in 2006. From 2009 to 2011 he was the coach of the German men's national team.

After the weak performance of the German team at the European Volleyball Championship in 2011 ( 15th place ), the DVV leadership decided shortly before the Vorqualifikationsturnier for the Olympic Games 2012 in Tourcoing, to separate from Lozano, whose contract actually ran until 2012, and the to leave care team by junior national coach Bernard Stewart, assistant coach Ralph Bergmann and the wounded national player Stefan Hübner provisional.
