Raúl Rojas

Raúl Rojas González ( born June 25, 1955 in Mexico City) is a professor of computer science at the Free University of Berlin, specializing in artificial neural networks.

Became known Raúl Rojas, among other things by the international success he won playing with his soccer robots, the FU -Fighters. Currently Rojas works with a research team from the University of Berlin in an automatically controlled cars, its driverless prototype named "Spirit of Berlin ".

In 2010 he competed alongside Peter - André Alt and Christiane Lemke for the office of President of the Free University of Berlin, but withdrew his candidacy end of March 2010 back.

Life

After his Elmar Altvater supervised social science doctorate at the Free University of Berlin, where he received his habilitation in computer science in 1993. Subsequently, he was appointed professor of Artificial Intelligence at the Martin- Luther -University Halle -Wittenberg from 1994 to 1997. In 1996 he received the German citizenship. Since 1997, Raúl Rojas teaches at the Free University Berlin. There he was awarded the first Wolfgang von Kempelen Prize for computer science history. Together with his team he won the prize for his work on Konrad Zuse and the history of the computer. Mainly decisive for the price was the reconstruction of the calculating machine Zuse Z3 and plan calculus, the programming language of the computer inventor Zuse, as well as the creative use of information technology in the service of computer science history.

His wife Margarita Esponda Argüero is also a professor at the Free University of Berlin. You have a daughter.
