Rauno Aaltonen

Rauno August Aaltonen [ rɑu̯nɔ ɑ ː ltɔnɛn ] ( born January 7, 1938 in Turku ) is a retired Finnish rally driver, who is also known by the nickname "The Rally Professor " because he was always very meticulously dealt with the art of rally driving.

Career

Aaltonen won in his long motorsport career national and international championships. He was before his career as a rally driver in other motor sports results (for example on the bike and the racing boat).

Rauno Aaltonen was one of the most successful rally drivers of the 1960s, legendary are his victories with the Mini Cooper. At the rally safari, which is one of the toughest rallies, he finished in second place six times.

During his professional rally career Aaltonen worked as an instructor for safety training and as a vehicle tester and writer for magazines. He was responsible for the BMW driver training on snow and ice.

The graduate degree in business administration is the winner of Order of Knights " Finnish lion first class."
