Rawa (river)

The Rawa is a 19.6 km long river in Poland with a catchment area of 89.8 km ².

The river rises in Marcin Pond in Ruda Śląska and flows through the cities Świętochłowice ( Schwientochlowitz ), Chorzów ( Chorzów ), Katowice ( Katowice ) and Sosnowiec ( Sosnowiec ) where it discharges into the river Brynica (850 m before Przemsa ). Today, most of the Rawa - course is channeled, as was conducted in the 1970s and 1980s, the river in the cities due to heavy pollution and the associated stench in underground channels. The Rawa belongs to the catchment area of the Vistula.
