Ray Boyd

Ray Boyd (actually Raymond Boyd, born June 28, 1951) is a retired Australian pole vaulter.

In the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 1970 and 1974 in Christchurch he was fourth positions respectively. At the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 and in Montreal in 1976, he left in qualifying.

In 1982 he won at the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane.

Twelve times he was Australian champion (1970, 1972-1976, 1978-1983). His personal best of 5.30m he set up in Melbourne on 15 March 1976.

Ray Boyd is with the former sprinter Denise Boyd (born Robertson) married. Their daughter Alana Boyd is also successful as a pole vaulter.
