Rayleigh is a market town in the district of Rochford in Essex, England. It is located between Chelmsford and Southend -on-Sea. After the population had risen sharply in the 1960s, the city now has about 34,000 inhabitants.
Worth seeing are the Holy Trinity Church from the 14th century, a windmill and the moth of a Saxon royal castle.
