Raymond Gravel

Raymond Gravel ( born 1952 in Saint- Damien -de- Brandon, Quebec ) is a Canadian Roman Catholic priest and former Member of Parliament in the Canadian House of Commons.

Raymond grew up in Quebec. At 16, Gravel left home and moved to Montreal, where he worked as an escort and worked in gay bars. With 30 years of Gravel entered 1982 in a Catholic seminary in Canada and studied theology at the University of Montreal. After his training Gravel was ordained a priest. He was a priest at St. Joachim Church in La Plaine, Quebec, operates.

Gravel was placed on 29 October 2006 as a candidate of the Canadian Party Bloc Québécois. When it was denied him permission to run for president of the church leadership, Gravel requested his leave of absence. Gravel won the parliamentary elections and moved as MP for the constituency of Repentigny on 27 November 2006 in the House a. At the general election in 2008 he gave up for reelection and was re- worked as a priest.
