Repentigny, Quebec

Repentigny is a city in the southwest of the Canadian province of Quebec. It is located in the Lanaudière region, approximately 25 km north of the center of Montreal. Repentigny is part of the regional county municipality ( municipalité régional du comté ) L' Assomption, has an area of ​​61.79 km ² and has 82,000 inhabitants ( 2011).

Geography

Repentigny is located in the Rive- Nord, on the western shore of the St. Lawrence River. History

Pierre Le Gardeur, French admiral and director of the Compagnie de la Nouvelle France, the territory was awarded as Seigneurie in 1647.
