Raymond Mommens (* December 27 1958 in Lebbeke ) is a retired Belgian footballer.

Playing career

Mommens began his career at Sporting Lokeren age of 17. During his time in Lokeren, he was national player, but could not win a single title. 1986 he joined the RSC Charleroi, where he could not win a single title in another eleven years career. A total of 613 games played Mommens for his two clubs, scoring a total of 76 league goals.

International players career

Internationally, he played for Belgium. He participated in the European Football Championship in 1980 partly in Italy and was there with the team vice European champion. In the European Football Championship in 1984 in France, he retired with the team, however, in the group phase. He participated in the Soccer World Cup 1982 in Spain and some difference with the Red Devils in the second group stage. With the FIFA World Cup in Mexico in 1986 he created the biggest sensation with the national team and finished fourth.

After the active career

Currently Mommens works at RSC Charleroi as a scout.
