Raymond Poïvet

Raymond Poïvet (born 17 June 1910 in Le Cateau- Cambrésis, † 30 August 1999 in Nogent -le- Rotrou ) was a French cartoonist.

Artistic Career

After studying at the École nationale supérieure des beaux -arts de Paris, he was active as an illustrator. From 1940 his first comic biographies of Christopher Columbus, Napoleon Bonaparte and other sizes of world history appeared. Later followed comic adaptations of classics like Robinson Crusoe or King Kong. In 1945 he recorded, first for the magazine Vaillant, the sci-fi series Les Pionniers de l' Espérance, which appeared as a book series room agent Alpha in the Bastion -Verlag in Germany. The text was supplied by Roger Lecureux. The series was published until 1973.

In the 1970s Poïvet to the Histoire de France en bandes Larousse series dessinées ( Volumes 2, 6, 7, 14 and 19) and La découverte du monde en bandes dessinées (Volumes 10 and 12) was involved. From these series parts were also published on German - former integrated into the series Classicomics (Volumes 10 - 13 ), the latter at Bastion under the title The Conquest of the World. He also recorded in the 1980s contributions to the Larousse series Discover the Bible. This series has been fully published in German.

Poïvet recorded for other magazines, including the series Colonel X for Coq hardi, Mam'zelle Nitouche for L' Humanité and Guy Lebleu for Pilote.
