Rebel Yell (roller coaster)

Rebel Yell at Kings Dominion ( Doswell, Virginia, USA ) is a racing wooden roller coaster manufacturer Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters with the serial number 143, which was opened on 3 May 1975.

In the train there is a red side and a blue side. Both routes are equally long and almost have the same layout. It reaches a height of 26 m and has a maximum slope of 50 °.

History

  • Originally Rebel Yell ran parallel to Lake Charles, a large artificial lake in the northwestern area of Kings Dominion. In the early 1990s, the lake was drained to two thirds, to make room for the construction of a new water park.
  • Between 1993 and 2007, the trains ran on one side of Rebel Yell backwards. However, these were turned forward again, there were complaints from visitors who complained of back problems.
  • It was named after the battle cry yell Rebel, which was used by Confederate soldiers during the Civil War.
  • She is a filming location in the movie roller coaster of 1977.

Rebel Yell has four trains with five cars. In each carriage six people ( three rows of two people) take place. Passengers must be at least 1.12 m tall to ride allowed.
