Rebu is a village (Estonian küla ) in the rural community Maidla ( Maidla vald ). It is located in Ida -Viru county (East Wierland ) in northeastern Estonia.

Description and History

The village has 7 inhabitants (as of 2000).

Rebu was first mentioned in documents in 1551. Historians have demonstrated in Rebu an old iron melt. The required ore won the locals from the nearby moors. In the area indicate the names of streams and forests on an iron processing. They contain the name raud (Estonian for " iron ").

At the farm Sompa archaeologists have uncovered an underground cemetery. It was used from the 13th to the 17th century. The system is under national protection of cultural property.
