The town of Bayreuth, he crosses from east to west. In the city he's taken since the seventies in a concrete bed and partially überdeckelt.

Near the Bayreuth festival square south branches of Mühlkanal, the earlier drive several mills in the city area; the flow rate of the channel is approximately constant with a weir. It runs above ground to the height of Muenzgasse. Behind the former state central he is to the Graser school, with the main arm, plumbed shortly before the reunification. In the late 1990s, most of the channel was exposed in the Opernstraße and incorporated into the redesign of the La Spezia - square.

The northern arm usually results in very little water, but is used at high water levels as flood stream and has a very wide bed. It is built over two parking spaces partially.
