Red Pike (Wasdale)

Seen The Red Pike from Fell from Scoat

The Red Pike is a mountain in the Lake District, Cumbria, England. The Red Pike rises 826 meters north of the northern end of Wast Water and should not be confused with the even further north Red Pike at Buttermere Lake.

The summit of Red Pike is narrow and elongated. To the east, the mountain drops steeply over many ledges for Mosedale valley. The summit will take place in the north connecting to a ridge, which continues westward across the directly adjacent Scoat fur to Haycock and on the east you reach the top of the Pillar. To the south of the summit via the Yewbarrow to Wast Water drops.

Opportunities for advancement on the Red Pike offer from across the street to reach Wast Water from either the Yewbarrow or along the Overbeck on. Also along the Nether Beck and the Scoat Tarn is the height from there to reach directly.

The Mosedale Beck and Black Beck occur on the eastern flank of Red Pike.
