RedDot

RedDot is the former product name of Open Text Web Site Management, a web content management system developed by the Open Text Web Solutions AG (formerly RedDot Solutions AG), a division of the Canadian company Open Text Corporation is offered.

History

The Information Office AG was founded in 1993 at the headquarters of Oldenburg and changed its name in April 2001 as RedDot Solutions AG.

In June 2005, Hummingbird has all RedDot shares acquired. Approximately one year later (October 2006) were Hummingbird and RedDot taken over by the Open Text Corporation.

Since January 2006, called RedDot Open Text Web Solutions Group.

2007 RedDot has received from analyst firm Gartner as the only German provider a Positive rating in the MarketScope for web content management for the ECM Suite.

Products

The RedDot consists of 3 main products:

  • RedDot Content Management Server (CMS )
  • RedDot Extended Content Management Server ( XCMS )
  • RedDot Live Server

Technology

The core product RedDot CMS is based on the staging principle of data management and care on the content management server and the output to the web server. The RedDot CMS is based on Windows Server, ASP, and the proprietary query language RQL ( RedDot Query Language). The surface requires the use of Internet Explorer. With version 7, the system was expanded to ASPX.NET components to simplify the creation of navigation. Furthermore, were added to the Navigation Manager RedDot specific tags, but lacking in the Navigation Manager a detailed authorization concept.
