Location and meaning

The cottage is located about two kilometers east of the mountain station Nid d' Aigle ( 2372 m) of the gear train Tramway du Mont Blanc. She is from an important base for the ascent of Mont Blanc on the normal route via the Dôme du Goûter from the west adjacent to the Refuge du Goûter. To avoid altitude sickness stay many climbers on these cabins before they start the commission. It is cultivated from early June to late September.

New building of the hut

In the years 2002 to 2005, a new house was built in a special timber construction beside the old hut. The new building was necessary because the now disused old hut due to the ever increasing number of overnight stays had become too small and the technical equipment such as energy supply and sanitation were no longer acceptable.
