Regelinda

Reglindis (also Regelindis or regulations Linda; * to 989; † after March 21, 1016 ) was a daughter of the Polish king Bolesław I the Brave and the Sorbian prince's daughter Emnilda. She was by marriage Margravine of Meissen.

Life

Reglindis 1002 was married to Margrave Hermann, the son Ekkehard of Meissen. Shortly after the violent death of Ekkehard and after the investiture Bolesław with the Lusatias consolidated the marriage relations between the Piast and Ekkehardinern, the effect remained despite the wars of Henry II against Poland and in 1018, shortly after the Peace of Bautzen, by the last marriage Bolesław were reaffirmed in Hermann's sister Oda again.

Representation in Naumburg Cathedral

A statue that is supposed to represent their person is in the west choir of Naumburg Cathedral along with eleven other founding figures. The unknown " Naumburg Master " she has created in the 13th century together with the sculpture of her husband and the intermarried couple Uta and Ekkehard as the main founder of the church.
