Regent master

Magister regens, (German: Mr. Chief ) at the universities of the Middle Ages the title of Master of Arts with authorization to teach (Latin: Licentia docendi ).

Tasks

The teaching license was issued free of charge to each qualified applicant for a decision of the Third Lateran Council by the Chancellor of the administration. He had thus an early form of a chair. The scholarship was almost a reward for his teaching.
