Regina Schörg

Regina Schörg (born 12 January 1969 in Vienna) is an Austrian opera singer (soprano) and singing teacher.

Schörg studied from 1989 to 1992 at the Vienna Conservatory at Margret Zimmermann ( later she also took lessons with Renate Holm, Patricia Wise, KS Miljakovic Olivera, Antonio Carangelo and most recently at KS Artur Korn). Then she went to the National Theatre in Linz, where she performed in operettas by Dostal and Strauss as well as Marie in The Bartered Bride.

From 1997 to 1999 she was engaged at the Vienna Volksoper, from there she joined the Vienna State Opera, where she stood as Halévy La Juive Eudoxie in with Soile Isokoski and Shicoff on Stage ( CD and TV recording ).

Her major roles include Mozart's appearances for the ( dramatic coloratura ) soprano, including Elettra in Idomeneo, Konstanze in The Abduction from the Seraglio, Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro, Pamina in The Magic Flute, Donna Elvira ( under Riccardo Muti ) Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Vitellia in La clemenza di Tito (including at the Komische Oper Berlin and at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona ), and Violetta in Verdi's La traviata, and the title role in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor.

Again and again she appeared in rarities from the operatic repertoire, as Cunegonde in Louis Spohr's Faust in 1999, in Verdi's Luisa Miller in the title role in Offenbach's first full performance and recording of the Rheinnixen as ARMGARD (Montpellier 2002). Successfully she also worked with directors such as Harry Kupfer, Günter Krämer and Calixto Beito.

1999 Schörg was the artist of the opening ceremony of the Vienna Opera Ball. Concert appearances found except in Austria, among others held in Paris, Munich, Tokyo, Berlin and Helsingborg. Particular success they had in opera performances in Australia.
