RegioSprinter

The RegioSprinter is developed and built by Siemens Duewag easier DMUs for fast regional traffic. The RegioSprinter was advertised by the manufacturer, first under the name RVT (regional combustion railcars ). It is classified in Germany as the class 654.

Vehicle

The RegioSprinter was the first carried out on a 1992 call of the Association of German Transport Companies presented to the railway industry project of a lightweight, strong spurt and at the same time cost railcar for regional transport. Building on the experience gained during the construction of RegioSprinter Siemens developed as a successor to the Desiro, which was initially marketed as RegioSprinter 2.

As an extra feature, the product supplied to the Vogtlandbahn vehicles were retrofitted in 1999 under the provisions of BOStrab to the road via a misplaced than three-rail executed tram track to pass the Zwickau city center.

The vehicles Rurtalbahn and Naerumbahnen are those Vogtlandbahn however, fitted with screw couplings with Scharfenberg couplers.

The vehicles are designed as a three-piece double articulated railcar with diesel- mechanical drive. In the two longer end modules are the cabs and under each of the high-floor Endabteilen one of the most known from the Straßenomnibusbau drive units that drive each wheel set of the respective Endmodules. There is a much shorter, also known as " intermediate carts " designated -driving module with two non-driven axles between the end modules.

Two-thirds of the vehicle are designed for low -floor design. The seating is built into the arrangement, two to three; on a toilet were omitted because of the proposed small travel distances. The Vogtlandbahn had still later all vehicles with retrofitted toilets, otherwise would not have been possible a cross-border operation to the Czech Republic.

Use

Rurtalbahn

The Duerener circular path procured in 1995 for the acquired of their routes Jülich - Düren and Düren - Heimbach total of 17 RegioSprinter, which replaced the rail buses previously used there on both routes. Today (2012 ) the RegioSprinter used on the following routes:

  • Northern Rurtalbahn: Düren - Jülich - Linnich (this is from Jülich to a remaining portion of the railway Julich- Dalheim )
  • Beading Train: Düren - Zuelpich - Euskirchen ( excludes tourist traffic on weekends )

On behalf of DB Regio NRW also comes a railcar on the line RB 39 ( " Schwalm -Nette -Bahn " ), between Mönchengladbach Hbf and Dalheim used.

As the vehicle population Rurtalbahn includes a generous reserve, came in recent years repeatedly RegioSprinter this railway company helping out on other lines of DB Regio NRW (eg on the line RB 37 " The Wedauer " ) and other private railways for use, such as at the Dortmund- Märkischen railway, the Nord-Ostsee -Bahn and the vias or Erft web.

Vogtlandbahn

The Vogtlandbahn procured from 1996 a total of 18 vehicles for use on the routes Zwickau-Adorf/Vogtl. and Reichenbach in Vogtl. blades valley. Since the completion of these routes was delayed again and again after the renovation, the new vehicles initially operated the route from Zwickau to Bad Bramstedt. Currently, the railcars arrive on the following lines of Vogtlandbahn used:

  • VB 1 Zwickau Center - Zwickau (Sachs ) Hbf - Falkenstein / Vogtl. - Zwotental - Klingenthal - Kraslice ( - Karlovy Vary dolní n ) ( KBS 539 )
  • VB 2 Zwickau (Sachs ) Hbf - Reichenbach ( Vogtl ) ob Bf - Herlasgrün - Plauen ( Vogtl ) ob Bf - Adorf / Vogtl. ( KBS 544)
  • VB 5 yard - Schönberg / Vogtl. - Mehltheuer - Plauen ( Vogtl ) ob Bf - Herlasgrün - Falkenstein / Vogtl.

Until the timetable change in December 2006, the RegioSprinter Vogtlandbahn also came on the line VB 7 between Schoenberg / Vogtland and Schleiz West used. The traffic on this route was canceled on December 9, 2006 by the transport company of the Free State of Thuringia.

Furthermore, in 2006, two of the railcars ( VT 36 and VT 39) were leased to the Prignitzer Eisenbahn GmbH, which started this due to vehicle defect on its routes in the western Ruhr area.

Since October 2013, several railcars were transferred from the Vogtlandbahn to the Oberpfalzbahn. This sets the trains mainly on the railway line Cham Lam, since their own regional shuttles until December 2014 are in processing.

Nærumbanen (Denmark)

The Nærumbanen ( LNJ ) in the Copenhagen area in 1999 procured four railcars of the type RegioSprinter and sets them since then on the route between Nærum and Jægersborg one. Noticeable difference to the regions sprinters Rurtalbahn are large, designed as a snow plow rail guards at the vehicle ends.

The operation is performed on only eight kilometer stretch of the Lokalbanen A / S ( LB) since 2002, which has taken over several smaller railway companies in the Copenhagen area. The railcars were at this time in the possession of the Hovedstadens Lokalbaner over which they leased to the LB.
