Regnault (crater)

45.38

Regnault is a relatively small impact crater on the far western edge of the lunar front side, therefore, is sometimes visible as a result of libration and if visible from the Earth, then highly distorted. It is located west of Oceanus Procellarum, west of the crater Volta, whose edge he partially covers. To the south it touches the edge of the crater Stokes. The interior is flat, the crater rim moderately eroded.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by Henri Victor Regnault French physicist.
