The Rehmerloh - Mennighüffer mill stream (short: mill creek, at the monastery peasantry also: Räudenbach ) is a left tributary of the river Werre in the northeast of the German Federal State of North Rhine -Westphalia.

Geography

The lake has a total length of 16.4 km. The catchment area extends north of Else and Werre and south of the Wiehengebirge over a section of the northern Ravens Mulde. The catchment area has a size of 70.9 km ². The body of water rises at the Kahle Wart ( close Blasheimer mountain ) at Hüllhorst - Oberbauerschaft in Wiehengebirge. Just north of the springs Obermehner mill creek. The creek feeds the moat of Ulenburg. The river flows in wages in the Werre ( river mile 8.4 ). Shortly before the mouth is on the left a large sewage treatment plant.

The water flows through on its way from the source to the mouth of the following municipalities:

  • Hüllhorst - here it flows through, inter alia, the Nightingale
  • Kirchlengern
  • Wages

Environment

Large parts of the stream valleys of the Rehmerloh - Mennighüffer mill creek are protected. In Kirchlengern and wages is the 226 -hectare nature reserve " Rehmerloh - Mennighüffer Mühlenbachtal ". It is the largest conservation area in the district of Herford. The stream is protected for a length of nearly 10 km since 1995. The nature reserve " Rehmerloh - Mennighüffer mill creek " is a for the Ravens Berger Hügellend typical, semi-natural and widespread Sieksystem. The Siektal is pronounced as Kastental. In the meadows grow alder riparian woodlands and alder forests. There are also beech or oak grove on the hillside steps. The wet and moist meadows are home to numerous endangered plant species. On Ulenburg lock a population of greater mouse- ear is located.
