Reichsgau Tirol-Vorarlberg

The Gau Tirol -Vorarlberg was a Reichsgau in Austria at the time of National Socialism. It was formed in April 1938, shortly after the "Anschluss " of Austria by the Nazi Germany. It consisted of 10 districts, 335 local groups, 813 cells and 4,821 blocks (as of 1940). For Gauleiter Franz Hofer was determined Innsbruck, which had its seat in the New Country House and the national leadership was in Munich (not in Vienna ) was assumed. President was Hans -Reinhard Koch.

The Gau Tirol -Vorarlberg consisted of the territories that are now called North Tyrol and Vorarlberg. It was divided into districts with district leadership and district leaders. In Vorarlberg, there were the following circuits:

  • Circle with the Dornbirn district leader Anton Plank Steiner (1939-1941)
