Reichsschule Feldafing

The Empire Feldafing was founded on 10 April 1934 as neunklassige National Socialist German High School Lake Starnberg, initially located in several villas in Feldafing on Lake Starnberg.

History

The Empire Feldafing had initially based in a villa on Lake Starnberg, before she became a private school of the SA leadership. It was opened by Ernst Röhm April 1, 1934. The school was established at the beginning with military lockers and beds. The teachers were SA members and it has been informed by national curricula with military sports. After the Reich selection procedure each Reichsgau could send three candidates each year to Feldafing, only Berlin and Munich five. The former, now converted to apartments apartment school building served as the administration building for the kingdom of school. After the war the building " Institut Dr. Greite " was to 1978 as a school of the boarding used, which was led by the former SS Sturmbannführer Dr. Walter Greite ( 1907-1984 ).

1938 moved into the school, designed by Alois Degano a new building and was renamed Empire School of the NSDAP Feldafing (RSF ). The school was under the auspices of the Party Chancellery of the NSDAP. On a neighboring property, a subcamp of the Dachau concentration camp was established in 1942.

The school was disbanded on April 23, 1945, her students were expelled after the Second World War on the orders of the occupying powers up to 1949 from the higher education.

On the grounds of the imperial school a DP camp was organized by the U.S. military administration set up to accommodate so-called Jewish Displaced Persons. After the dissolution of the camp in 1951, the Bundeswehr took over the building. The site is for sale and is only used until 2011 by the Bundeswehr. On the site there is also the " Villino ", a 1912 built house, which was also the writer Thomas Mann had temporarily possessed a share.

Function

The school was part of the system of the Nazi elite schools for the training of an elite within the meaning of National Socialist education system.
