Reinhard Döhl

Reinhard Döhl ( born September 16, 1934 in Wattenscheid / Ruhr; † 29 May 2004 Stuttgart; pseudonym: Traugott Schneider ) was a German literary and media theorist. He was also active as an author and artist.

Life

After studying German literature, philosophy, history, political science in Göttingen, and Stuttgart in 1965, the doctorate with a thesis on the literary work of Hans Arp. In 1967 Reinhard Döhl received the Prix Strasbourg. He received his habilitation in 1979 with the thesis on modern German literature with particular attention to the media. In 1987, the Fellowship of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science he was offered and 1990 he received a scholarship from the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. Reinhard Döhl was made an honorary member of the Accademia Tedesca in Rome in 1992. He also held visiting professorships at the Karl- Franzens University (Graz), the Kansai University in Osaka and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
