Reinhard Eiben

Reinhard yew ( born December 4, 1951 in Crossen ) is a former German canoeist. He was for the GDR Olympic and world champion in canoe slalom.

Career

Yew began Canoeing on the river Mulde. He was delegated by the Zwickau Canoe Club for SC DHfK Leipzig 1968. At the World Championships in 1971, he finished 13th place.

At the 1972 Olympic Games Olympic competitions were held in the canoe slalom for the first time. On the Augsburg Eiskanal yew won the One - Canadians well before the West German Reinhold Kauder, the reigning world champion. 1973 Yew was also world champion in Muotatal.

In the team competition he won in 1973 and 1975 and silver in 1977 with Peter Massalski and Lutz grains champion. After the World Cup was in 1977, when the yew in the individual competition came eighth, he finished his career.

Trained industrial blacksmith was an employee of the District Leipzig, after 1989 he moved to Schleswig -Holstein.
