Reinhardt Kristensen

Reinhardt Møbjerg Kristensen ( born December 6, 1948) is a Danish biologist. Kristensen studied since 1968 at the University of Aarhus ( to 1971) and at the University of Copenhagen ( to 1976 ). In 1979 he received his doctorate. Since 1983 he is professor at the University of Copenhagen ( by the year 1988 as an assistant professor ). Since 2002 he is member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences.

Kristensen discovered three new phyla: 1983 Loricifera, 1995 and 2000, the Cycliophora Micrognathozoa. Currently (2005) there are only 20-30 depending on taxonomy tribes throughout the animal kingdom.
