Relentless Retribution (English: merciless retaliation ) is the sixth studio album by the American thrash metal band Death Angel. It was released by Nuclear Blast on September 3, 2010. The album was released as a digipak with a DVD that includes a studio report ( Making-of ). It debuted at # 45 in the German album charts, the highest placing for the band to date.
Music style
Compared with the previous described as more rock album again tends more to the classic elements of Thrash Metal. Two Part solos, breaks and a stretch a bit rougher compared to the early Death Angel singing can be heard. With Volcanic a ballad is included. Even with Claws in the Deep, a longer acoustic part was installed.
Reception
The album was well received and referred to the part as best record since Act III. In Rock Hard forgave " Buffo " Schnädelbach 9 out of 10. He spoke of a " great album", which was better than anything which published the "Big Four" of thrash in the last decade. The album reached the third place in the monthly " Richter scale " of the magazine with an average score of 7.8 points. In musikreviews.de Lutz Koroleski called the album " significantly fresher and more focused than its predecessors ," the accelerator pedal would " consistently strong depressed ". Compared to the new albums Overkill, Heathen and Exodus Death Angel but had " just left empty-handed ."
