Rémo Meyer ( born November 12, 1980 in Langenthal, Switzerland ) is a Swiss football player. He plays as a defensive or right midfield but can also be set up in defense.

Career

In his youth, Meyer played at FC Altbüron - Grossdietwil and FC Langenthal. His career in professional football, he began at FC Luzern in the 1997/98 season in the top Swiss league (then National League A ), 2000, he moved to Lausanne Sports. After 97 games and scored five goals in the National League A Meyer left Switzerland in 2002, when he moved to Germany for TSV 1860 Munich in the Bundesliga 1. In 2004 he went to the club from the 2nd Bundesliga. He remained scoreless in the first German Bundesliga with 42 missions; in the second Bundesliga, he scored two goals in 44 games. After the 2005/2006 season he decided not to renew his expiring contract and switched to Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian T-Mobile Bundesliga. In addition, Meyer played among others in the U-21 EURO 2002 in Switzerland and played from then until 2004 for the senior team five internationals.

In 2007 he won the Salzburg Austrian Championship title. In eleven games, he scored one goal. In the following season, Meyer could barely complete games for the Mozart city dwellers, because he was suffering from a thigh and knee problems. In the championship season of 2008/ 09 Meyer was suspended at the club for two games by coach Co Adriaanse and resumed later in the squad, he played a total of ten games in the 2008/ 09 season. After this rather disappointing season, he was without a club over a season and moved in September 2010 to his hometown club FC Altbüron - Grossdietwil in the 3rd Swiss league.
