Renate Spitzner

Renate Spitzner ( born May 28, 1943 in Prague) is an Austrian composer ( ÖGZM ), musician, music teacher, music therapist and founder of " Musisch - social method" and initiator of " volunteers Exactly Sage " ( " UN Volunteer Award 2001 Austria" ).

Spitzner studied violin, organ, piano, trumpet, music education, composition and music therapy in Vienna. She is a graduate of the University of Music in Vienna.

In their work in the psychiatric hospital Baumgartnerhöhe in Vienna, she developed the " musical- social method" of patient and professional musicians play together. For making music together works of classics for the needs of patients be adapted and rewritten. The " Musisch - social method" was the first time in 1992 in the framework of the UN Decade of Disabled Persons Vienna - Japan publicly acknowledged.

Renate Spitzner is the mother of the composer Gerald Spitzner.

Awards

  • Artistic recognition by the Czechoslovak Republic, world premiere of the composition " Praha " for violin solo at the opening of the Czechoslovak Expo pavilions from Brussels to Prague 1959 ( see Czechoslovakian television live recording )
  • On the 50th anniversary of the center in Vienna 1 ( Freyung 6, 1 staircase door 5 ) Renate Spitzner was presented in 2001, the UN Year of Volunteers of the 1st prize for culture for social commitment of the Republic of Austria.
  • 2006: Silver Medal of the city of Vienna, presented on 20 September 2006 by Health Councillor Renate Brauner for the development and years of implementation of the " Musisch - social method".
