Renato Ulrich

Renato Ulrich ( born December 14, 1983 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss freestyle skier. He specializes in the discipline Aerials ( jumping).

Biography

Ulrich was in his youth trampoline Turner (one year member of the junior national team ) and went downhill ski race. In 1999, he combined his interests for the gymnastics and skiing, and began to practice acrobatic skiing. After three winters in the European Cup he made his debut on 17 January 2003 at the freestyle skiing World Cup in Lake Placid and reached the 26th place. The best result of the season, he scored in the 2003 World Cup in Deer Valley, where he finished 16th.

In the 2003 / 04 season, Ulrich met twice before in the top ten in the World Cup. The following season 2004/ 05 he had to leave due to injury fail completely. He managed two more top-10 results in the World Cup season 2005/ 06 And it came up a tenth place at the Olympic Winter Games 2006. The 2006/07 season was characterized by a prolonged injury layoff.

At the World Cup in Deer Valley on 1 February 2008 Ulrich was third and thus was the first time on the podium. In addition, two other results came in this season in the top five. In the winter of 2008/ 09 he initially could not confirm these benefits, but pointed to the end of the season his best performance and jumped at the 2009 World Championships in Inawashiro to fourth place. In the World Cup season 2009/10 was followed by another podium finish. His previous best World Cup placing a second place finish, achieved on January 29, 2011 in Calgary. Also in the 2011 World Championships in Deer Valley Ulrich missed a medal in fourth just barely.

Ulrich is a trained air traffic control employee, 2009, he graduated from the part-time baccalaureate school for adults.
