Action

The well cared for and neglected by the attorney husband Evelyn Droste breaks out for the affair with an American and puts her bourgeois existence at stake.

In a tennis game met Evelyn Droste ( Claude Jade ), the American Frank Davis ( Barry Stokes ). His advances she holds for the time being standing, but with a ball on the following evening, it can be during a walk kiss. During his leave, he asks her to visit him in Paris. Evelyn's girlfriend Marianne ( verenice Rudolph) noticed the confusion of the young woman, but is silent when eating in front of her husband Kurt (Harald Kuhlmann ). Evelyn's children are cared for by a governess (Nina Diviskova ) and Evleyns attempts to rebel against them fail. For Frank, it is only an adventure, but Evelyn that her husband says she travel with Marianne to Gatow, follow him for a weekend in Paris. Husband Kurt she imagines in the country. Evelyn realizes that Frank is a deceiver, which is located only a fleeting romance. On their return flight, the aircraft crashes. Kurt learns only now of the loneliness Evelyn.

Background

Kubachs film refuses to accept the narrative structure of the novel. Identification figure remains solely Evelyn. The language of film is strongly oriented towards Alfred Hitchcock, quoting his film Rebecca in relation to Evelyn's old nanny (the actress Nina Divíšková as a double Judith Anderson acts ), and even copied the scene with the billowing curtains.

The film was made in the Bavaria studios as well as in and around Prague.
