René Boyvin

René Boyvin (* 1525 in Angers, † after 1580 in Rome) was a French engraver, etcher and draftsman of Mannerism.

Boyvin was a member of the engraver and Münzschneiders Pierre Milan, who ran a flourishing workshop in Fontainebleau and later in Paris in the mid- 16th century. In the beginning of their collaboration they did not sign their bites, so that the perpetrators are hard to distinguish because of the similarity of their style. Only later signed Boyvin his records. Of him safely ascribed stitches around 240 leaves are obtained Templates for their engravings were initially works by Rosso Fiorentino, by Léonard Thiry, one coming from Flanders employee Rosso and Lucas Lorenzo and Penni. Boyvins engravings give an impression of the diversity of the executed at Fontainebleau artistic works: There are engravings of ornaments, of handicraft items, jewelery templates of paintings Rosso, to Nachstiche of works by Italian artists.
