Rene Ohashi

René Ōhashi is a Canadian cinematographer.

Life

René Ōhashi is of Japanese descent. He grew up in Toronto. He worked as a salesman at a photo before 1970, a study at York University began. After graduating in 1976 he worked as a camera assistant, before he made his debut in 1981 with the directed by Paul Shapiro television drama Clown White as the main cinematographer. Since then he has established himself as a cameraman and was often nominated and awarded for several film awards. He has been nominated 11 times from 1986 to 2007 for the Gemini Awards, where he received nine awards. For the Canadian Society of Cinematographers Awards, he was nominated 17 times, with him six awards were presented.
