Republic of Ireland Act 1948

The Republic of Ireland Act (Irish Phoblacht na hÉireann Eight ) was an Act of the Irish Parliament ( Irish: Oireachtas Éireann ), which was adopted in 1948 and entered into force on 18 April 1949.

It was determined that the official name of Éire Republic of Ireland should be. Thus, Ireland was officially Republic, and it withdrew from the Commonwealth of Nations.
