Requiem (Jenkins)

Requiem is a classical composition by Karl Jenkins, performed and recorded in 2005. Premiere The first was held in Southwark Cathedral on June 2, 2005. Performers were the West Kazakhstan Philharmonic Orchestra and Adiemus percussion and brass. Conductor was the composer himself, the soloists were Nicole Tibbels (soprano), Clive Bell ( shakuhachi ), Sam Landman ( boy soprano ) and Catrin Finch (harp).

The Requiem has a total of 13 sets on ( in Japanese culture a divine number, the special blessing bestowed is ) and is characterized particularly by the fact that some text elements of the usual Latin Requiem text are replaced by Japanese haiku songs or be combined with it.
