Restoration Movement

The Restoration Movement was an American Christian revivalist movement of the 19th century.

She began by the Irish Presbyterians Thomas and Alexander Campbell.

The aim of the Restoration Movement was to Christianity again due to his New Testament foundations, not only in theology but also in particular with regard to details of daily life and the community of practice. The creeds and other traditions, who are also represented by the denominations of the Reformation, the Restoration Movement rejects. Key points include believers baptism by immersion, and the congregational community organization.

From the Restoration Movement, the Disciples of Christ arose, which split off from the different directions of the Churches of Christ and the International Churches of Christ as conservative groups over time.

Today, there are among the churches of the Restoration Movement fundamentalist, evangelical and ecumenical oriented mainline churches. Due to the congregational structure, there may be inside a church communities of different directions.
